What is Android OS
Android OS is a world famous operating system developing by Google. This is basically developed for Touchscreen mobile electronic devices like Smartphone and Tablets. Other than that, later they introduced a few Android versions such as Android TV for televisions, Android Auto for automobiles and Android wear for watches. This is a modified version of the Linux Kernel and a combination of other kinds of Open Source software.
The very first Android device was released back in September 2008. Since then it has been released several versions including its last version in December 2017 which was named as 8.0 “Oreo”. Just after three years of releasing Android OS, in 2011 it becomes the most famous and most selling mobile operating system all over the world and its market share continues to the present.
Android was founded back in 2003 by 4 members who are Andy Rubin, Rich Miner, Nick Sears and Chris White. Their main purpose was developing an advanced operating system for digital cameras. But a few times later they realized the global camera market is not large enough for their future milestones. So after five months, they convert and starting to develop Android as an operating system for the mobile phones.
Android was facing some major issues in a critical period. At that time, they were evicted from their office building while they were spending hard times attracting investors to the company. So a few months later in July 2005, Google was involved to the Android and they acquired Android Company for the Google and also its major founders joined with Google who was Andy Rubin, Rich Miner and Chris White. Since then they worked for the developing of mobile operating systems for mobile platforms. When this incident happens, Android is not a famous company in the community around the world. But after the acquirement of Google’s they developed the mobile device platform based on Linux Kernel and Google opened the Android platform for mobile phone makers with the authority of developing the operating system and upgrading it.
Thereafter they able to release commercially available first ever Android OS running Smartphone in September 2008. It was named as HTC Dream and also famous as well as T-Mobile G1. Since then they were released several updates including brand new features and fixing errors in previous versions and also the operating system has been improved gradually.
The most interesting about Android OS is, Android developers are using dessert or sugary treat names for naming their every release. But the first two releases introduced without using a specific code.
